Wooden dog

I try to find a use for as much off-cuts of wood as I can, so that I waste as little as possible. These dogs are cut using a band saw from what would have been waste wood of other woodworkers who work on a larger scale.
Once I have cut them, I drill holes for the eyes, sand them, soften the edges, oil them and then carefully hand paint the sides. Each dog is given three or four layers of colourful paint and finished with a layer of satin toy varnish. The added detail of ears are cut from card and glued into place.
